Students in energy, awake!

YES-DC offers many benefits for students currently active in any (masters) education related to energy and sustainable development. Through YES-DC there is the unique possibility to meet and greet many (young) professionals that have been active for quite a while in these fields. The perfect opportunity to find entrances to the best companies and the most amazing internships, but also a great opportunity to find out what you want to do after graduating. Many people in our network did similar studies, and through YES-DC you will have the possibility to interact with these people now employed in a colorful spectrum of activities, showing you the possibilities of your education.

No easier way than a membership of YES-DC and visiting our activities to get into contact with such a broad and international network. Our members are open minded and always willing to help. Creating a network of young professionals is our goal, and you are young professionals in the making.

Through YES-DC you have the chance to request internships, or react to the many vacancies send out through our biweekly “Friday Fortnightly”. In our Linked-In group direct connections can be made with professionals in all fields of energy and sustainability, and through our members database you can find exactly who works where… and contact them directly.

All our activities – such as this year an excursion to an RWE lignite mine in Germany, visiting the UNFCCC conference in Bonn, discussions on sustainable energy policies (with the developers of the plan), presentations on ambitious future projects such as DESERTEC (by actual DESERTEC representatives), and the occasional lustrum and new year’s celebrations – are of course open for student members, but especially for students YES-DC also organizes several other activities. E.g. a “meet your first employer”-day, where students can meet with solicitors from several energy related companies in a nice, relaxed setting, organized in such a way that every student gets a chance to show their full potential.

To maintain a constant stream of activities interesting for students, activities of other organizations – such as the SIB and de Jongeren Kopenhagen Coalitie JKC – are constantly monitored as well and updated in our agenda when they are offering interesting activities for YES-DC’ers.

If that is not enough yet, you are of course more than welcome too in the board of YES-DC, to get a heads start over other members in terms of networking and energy related activity organization.

And probably the best part: as a student you pay only half of the membership fee! So wake up, and join YES-DC.
