COP Online Simulation Game

Do you also sometimes think “Why don’t the world leaders just act together right now to avoid the global climate crisis” ?

In 2015 at COP21 countries negotiated and adopted the Paris Agreement – a global action plan aiming to limit global heating to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. The Agreement took decades in negotiations and many still remain skeptical about the result. Is it even possible to have a coordinated global response to the climate crisis? Can all countries find a way to cooperate effectively?

With the next UN Climate Change conference, COP25, upcoming in Chile this December, we invite you to experience first-hand how the global climate negotiations work. Join us to participate in a climate negotiation game where each participant will assume a role of one of the key countries or interest groups. We will try to negotiate an ambitious climate agreement in the course of one evening, while encountering the drama and tensions of international politics.

You don’t need to have any prior experience with climate science or politics to join this game. And it will surely be a fun way to learn more about climate action and different points of view in international negotiations.
